How to Make Women’s Cigarette & Pencil Pants – Class 2 (Pattern + Sewing)
PREREQUISITE - Womens Pants Class 1 - Foundation
Class Overview:
This intermediate-level class by Savitha at Savi’s Fashion Studio is a continuation of the Pants Foundation (Class 1). In this class, you will modify the basic pants sloper to create cigarette or pencil pants, lay out and cut fabric, add side pockets, and sew a partially elasticated waistband.Please watch Class 1 - Pants Foundation before watching this class as this is a continuation class and we will be using the pattern we created in Class1.
What you will learn:
Learn how to update your pants block (from Class 1) to draft a cigarette / pencil silhouette.
Understand how to lay out the fabric for maximum efficiency and cut precisely using the modified pattern.
Draft and cut the facing for the waistband and cut pieces for the side pockets.
Step-by-step sewing of the side pocket to the front pant piece.
Stitch the pants together, including waist facing, side seams, and side pocket attachment.
Learn how to sew an invisible (concealed) side zipper into the pants
Sew a partially elasticated waistband to allow flexibility and fit.
