In this intermediate course with Savi’s Fashion Studio, you will learn how to add a lining to your dress or kurti. The class uses the pattern created in Class 1 – How to Give Darts in a Garment. You’ll work through fabric laying, cutting, stitching, and finishing — including a method for attaching lace or border for a decorative touch.

Preparing Lining Fabric

Understand how to select and prepare lining fabric that complements the outer fabric in weight and drape, and how to align grain-lines.

Cutting & Layout

Learn to lay out both the main fabric and the lining correctly and cut them with precision.

• Sewing the Lining
  Sew the lining and the outer garment together, creating a clean, professional interior.

  Decorative Finish with Lace / Border
  Attach lace or border to the garment as part of the lining process for a refined finish.

Final Finishing

Press and finish the seams so the lining lies smoothly inside the garment, giving it structure and ensuring it wears well.
