Class Overview
In this intermediate class by Savitha at Savi’s Fashion Studio, you’ll learn how to transform the basic pants sloper into flowy palazzo pants. Using the pattern you created in Class 1, you'll modify it, layout and cut fabric, and sew the pants step by step.
PREREQUISITE - 'Women's Pants Class 1 - Foundation'. Also good to have watched Class 2
Please watch "Class 1 - Pants Foundation" before watching this class as this is a continuation class and we will be using the pattern we created in Class1. Also it is good to have watched Class2.
What you will learn
Pattern Alteration
Learn which changes to make on your basic pants block to draft a palazzo silhouette
Cutting & Layout
Understand how to lay out your fabric (especially wider fabrics or stripes) and cut accurately.
Pockets Construction
Sew front slant pockets into the palazzo panels.
Waistband & Elastic
Create a fully elasticated waistband and attach a sash tie if required.
Sewing Seams & Hemming
Stitch the inseam, outseams, and hem to complete the pants, matching the stripes if using a striped fabric.
